Well, I guess we've all learned a little lesson about Show boating, now haven't we? Thanks to Lindsey Jacobellis for that.
Or how about the old "don't count your chickens before they're hatched" . Thanks to US women's hockey for that.
Or how about "never underestimate your opponent". Thanks to Canada men's hockey for that.
Or how about "there's no I in team speedskating" oh wait, there is an I... Thanks to Shani Davis for that.
Or the famous "always double check your bus schedule so you won't be late for your Olympic competition". Thanks to Johnny Weir(d) for that.
OK, OK, enough of this.
We are waiting for the temps to rise above 30 F here before going out for our run. Might not go until next week.

I can't help but notice that all but one of these "lessons" come from US athletes. Could it be that team USA is a bit on the cocky side? That said, there are also some seemingly wonderful people on our teams. And I really think the NBC monopoly commentators went over the top on making big drama of Jacobellis' blunder. For criminy sakes, she's twenty years old and she's a snowboarder
Well, enough pontificating. It appears that the speedskating semifinals are not enough excitement to keep the two gentlemen of the house awake. We're going to have to turn up the volume to hear the TV over all the snoring! (That includes Molly) Good to kno everyone can really relax when we come to the beach.
Frigid temperatures here also - there was ice on the beach. A first in our years here.

Oh, forgot trhe big question of the evening here in Manzanita. Why do some of the speedskaters (both long and short track) have little patches of something on the inside of their thighs? We've had a big debate re whether it is functional or style. Hoping further commentators will clarify trhis crucial point for us.
I think Miss Jacobellis will be able to work this to her advantage. She just need to find the right endorsement deals. I'm thinking insurance companies might be good. "Accidents happen... especially when you screw around that's why I chose Fallstate Insurance!"
